Sally's New Smile

Sally's New Smile

Sally, an adoptive mother at Bridge Meadows grew up in a childhood of instability where she moved constantly and was afraid to develop friendships. She wanted something different for her own kids. With a child of her own and plenty on her plate as a single mother, Sally watched her 2 nieces bounce in and out of the foster care system. Jenny, age 11 and Jamie, age 9 had both experienced several placements with strangers and other relatives. Sally knew she had to intervene to help the girls but she was afraid she couldn't do it all on her own. "I was worried I wouldn't have any help, but I knew it was the right thing to do" she said. Her caseworker told her about Bridge Meadows and she moved in May. "Bridge Meadows has changed our lives in so many ways, we are all so grateful to be here." Last month, Sally received a very special gift from one of Bridge Meadows' most loyal supporters.

Howard Hedinger has been a fixture in the community of philanthropy for many years and has supported Bridge Meadows since the beginning. When Howard met Sally at a fund raising event, he was so impressed with what she was doing that he decided to help her in return. Sally is a brave and beautiful woman, but had an unconfident smile and was in need of dental work. Howard graciously offered to assist Sally and immediately enlisted local dentists Dr. John Dougherty and Dr. Scott Dougherty to help with Sally's smile transformation. "I received the most amazing news today!!" Sally said in response. "I still can't believe it myself. I am in shock. There is a whole new me to come. Many doors are opening for me. There really are Angels on this earth. Many thanks to Howard, Dr. Scott and Dr. John. My life is going to change forever." Indeed it has.
